Tulie Bakery opened its doors in October of 2008. Located in the eclectic and popular 9th & 9th neighborhood of Salt Lake City, it has garnered the city's top dining honors and welcomed a host of regulars and casual passersby, alike.
Exquisitely crafted cakes and an assortment of classic baked goods fill stainless steel cases in the light filled modern-yet-rustic interior of the red sandstone building - formerly home to candy and chocolate shops. Owner Leslie Seggar crafted Tulie Bakery's menu to focus on pure, high quality ingredients that flow seamlessly with the decor. The results are flaky croissants, cinnamon-sugared morning buns and many other morning pastries, hot-pressed sandwiches, cakes, cupcakes, tarts, and cookies mingling with reclaimed wood tables, floor-to-ceiling windows, and vintage French bread boards. Gourmet coffee, espresso, and specialty teas are also highlights. Overall, the bakery has a pleasant communal feel on the tree-lined street it occupies.
Tulie Bakery sources locally from vendors including Winder Farms, Muir Copper Canyon Farms, Caputo's Market, Liberty Heights Fresh, and Farmer's Daughter Herbs. Natural milk and cream, fresh eggs, sweet cream butter, premium chocolate - including Scharffen Berger and Valrhona - and pure vanilla are used throughout the menu. The menu shifts periodically in order to emphasize seasonal ingredients and specialty items, and artisan-made gelato inspired by local fruits, too, has a presence in the warmer months.
Tulie Bakery is active in the local community, including booths at the Salt Lake Farmer's Market, Avenues Street Fair, and 9th & 9th Street Fair. Please see our Press section for awards to date.
